The right privacy for your deck

Everyone knows what a deck is.  Most people are familiar with structures to cover a deck whether they are awnings, pagodas, or roofs.  What may be less well known is that many homeowners add walls to their decks, and no, we’re not talking about screened-in porches.  These are wall without roofs that primarily provide additional privacy for those on the deck.  Here are some the options homeowners have with deck walls.

Solid walls. Owners seeking total privacy choose solid wood walls that block any views from the neighbors or street.  The downside of these is they can be off-putting and cause tension with neighbors.  The side facing the deck can also be very austere, but you can add hanging flowerpots or baskets to it for a better look.

Trellises. A picket fence-like or latticework wall adds a measure of privacy but has a softer look than a solid wall.  It also allows for greater airflow through the deck, which is always nice in the summer.  You can also add hanging pots or baskets to these walls.

Whichever option you choose, we can build it for you.  We can also work with you to design a custom solution for your deck.  Contact us today to get the process started.
