Use Lanterns. Some great lanterns to use would be solar lanterns, if you already have them around in the house.
Use Pumpkins. Carve out as many pumpkins as you can! Make them all look different, if you would like. Light the pumpkins from within with candles or flashlights. Place the pumpkins on the steps of your deck. You can also place them on your posts, but make sure you can safely sit them on the posts, if you decide to do that.
Cover every surface of your deck with fake spider webs. The wider you stretch the spider webbing, the better it will look. You can secure the spider web with thumbtacks or twirl it around the railings.
Make a trail of scary footprints. You can do this by using stencils that are spray-painted. You can remove the footprints later with aerosol snow.
Bring the music. Hook up a stereo system and play your favorite Halloween music. Halloween prop stores sell sound effect tapes just for this great addition to Halloween deck decorations.
